Parweld XTI 160?

Hi guys,

Ive been considering buying a TIG set for some time now and have come across this little number on Ebay http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/260967378420?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649 Has anyone any experience with one of these as i understand you get what you pay for but i dont want to splash out too much before i get some practice under my belt.

I have one of these and it grafts well on both mild and stainless steel..

What thickness can you weld up to these machines? There's also a Thermal arc set on eBay that I like the look of

In what mode, MMA or TIG?

Either? I would be doing all types of fabricating from residential gates/repairs (MMA) to stainless filter housings (TIG). Thanks

On a machine like that in MMA mode you're only really limited to the prep and the number of runs, you can weld very thick material with a relatively low-powered welder.
Tig, you're probably looking at somewhere around 3-4mm I'd think.
