I have a post hole auger that I use on my mini digger. At the min it is just mounted via a pin but that allows the digger arm to contact the hydraulic fitting which keep snapping. So I need to make a dropper to increase the clearance.
I have thought about a few different ways of doing it but want to keep it as simple as possible. So I am thinking that a solid bit of steel bar with two holes drilled to the correct sizes will do the job.
To fit to the auger I would need a clearance hole for a 30mm pin centred 45mm from the end of the 155mm wide bar. The digger arm is 130mm wide & has a 40mm pin. Obviously the bar needs to be at least 25mm each side wider than that.
So I need a bar that is 180mm to 200mm wide at one end cut down to 155mm for 100mm at the other & be thick enough for a 40mm (plus clearance) hole to be drilled in it & still be strong enough. I am guessing about 80mm thick would be enough. Both holes are parallel. Distance between holes non critical but about 100mm plus would be ok. Will also need a 40mm pin long enough to fit 180mm-200mm bar plus room for pin one end & stopper the other.
So the biggy does any one want to quote me for the above inc del?
