Parcel delivery

Thought i would put this on incase any of you are needing to post anything pretty heavy.

I bought a compressor on ebay that was collection only,as i was miles away i asked if the guy would send it via courier parcelforce wanted 37 pounds,48 hr delivery as it weighed 25 kg so i tried this place

I got it delivered next day for 10-40 just shows how it pays to shop around and parcelflight will carry up to 1000kg

I ship a lot stuff by courier, mine are pertty good and I will stick with them for most stuff but I will keep this lot on file for a test drive.

Well i really couldn't fault em mate,i was well chuffed with the price and service,i could even track the parcel online and was given a 1 hour delivery slot

Do they do a "timed collection" as the couriers I used before stopped doing it and the only one I could find at a reasonably price wanted me to wait in between 0700-1900

No that is the only draw back they won't state a collection time just between 9-30am & 5-30 pm

It was a timed collection I was looking for as being a shift worker I could do with an AM or PM collection.

I'm no expert mate but from the searching i did on the net i think you will struggle to find any where that does that at a reasonable price

NEVER USE SHIPLY!! been there,got the t-shirt.........and the bill for not collecting or delivering,and for getting another courier to do the job

Tell me about it!, I used to use Interparcel and could get a 1 hour collection slot (usually UPS) sent a few things including 35Kg of wheels/tyres to Scotland for £14, was amazed at the service but they've stopped doing it now. Another option was to drop parcel into a depot near me, that's stopped as well

edit: found Collect+ a good priced service up to 10Kg

Have used Collect+, very good on all occasions, just that weight restriction as the only issue.
One i use regularly is Smart Courier with HDNL, never had a problem with them.

I just got a quote from them £9.99. I paid 3.99+vat with Parcel2go.

Senditnow.com (who are a cheap front end for parcelforce it seems) give you the option of selecting a slot for the parcel pickup.

Though mine was 1200-1500 and they came at 1150

I have just used Parcelflight to collect a small but heavy ( 18 Kg ) parcel from an eBay Seller who specified "local collection only". Everything was arranged online from my end, payment ( 9.99 ) taken via PayPal, collection on the day specified, they provided the address label, delivery to me next day ( by DPD UK ) within the one-hour timeslot quoted, and trackable online. I'm very pleased with the service, and thank you, fuff66uk, for mentioning it.
