Paraffin lamps and tank corrosion

I have a number of nice old paraffin lamps - the old brass ones with wicks and diffusers etc.

I dont think its an uncommon problem, but where I inevitably leave paraffin in them there is a small amount of corrosion (looks like rust even though they are brass) in the tanks.

What can I do about this? Is it possible to tin the tanks internally perhaps to protect them?

It is rust. Normally from wick holder.
Some tanks are brass coated, so will rust.
Paffine seams to allow and collect water on the top. Condensation is the main reason.

Strip the lamp down. Dry the whole lot. Using a suitable solvent remove any remaining paraffin.

De rust the parts. You will shocked how bad it becomes.
Tanks can be repaired.
Wick holders are difficult to locate, but can be found.
