I used gasket paper when I rebuilt my compressor but all the gaskets I made started failing one by one. I used good quality gasket paper but they go brittle and burnt.
The first gasket that failed I made a new one from copper, but the head gaskets are bit big to make from copper. Ideas for what to use that will stand up to the heat?
Also noticed that a fair bit of fine blast media is getting through the sponge filters as I do some outdoor blasting. Are car type paper gaskets better? Anyone know a car with a simple airbox that's easily plumbed into some 1.5" pipe so I can do a cold air feed for my compressors? Idea is to take a feed from further away from the area I do my blasting, use some better air filter, e.g. an car airbox.
Other simpler idea is to use sponge filters soaked in oil like you get on motorcross bikes, would be easier to connect than plumbing in an air box.
As always, thanks for the help!
