panel wipes and tack rags

OK I just got some filler on and sanded it down. (Upol Fantastic is... fantastic). I'm then going to give it some grey cellulose primer. In the past I've wiped it down with some thinners on a rag. Is this right or should I go out and get some panel wipe solvent, or some ready impregnated panel wipes?

Then when I apply the primer and it's sanded do I need to do the same again.

At what point do I use a tack rag?

Dumb elementary questions I know but I'm a bit confused.

tack rag before the top coats ...or anytime you feel it needs a wipe

personaly i never bother at the primer stage , but some do

Use tack rag when you want to clean the panel from dust before painting.

Not sanding dust! Dust as in hair/air dust etc.

Use panel wipe when wiping down panel (as said above) not thinner. It will remove any primer/paint you just used.

As others have said use panel wipe, it's reasonable price wise and there should be no chance of any reactions.

As others have said, you shouldn't need it before primer, presuming that you will be spraying immediately after using the panel wipe using lint free cloth or such as Kimwipe, though if you are spraying a couple of days after wiping down then you won't lose anything by giving it a quick wipe with the tack rag, it only takes a couple of mins.

If you haven't used tack rags before don't make the mistake of rubbing hard with the rag on the panels, if you do you will transfer the resinous tacky material to the panel and may get some odd finishes

Open the rag out then lightly dust over the panel with the rag, occasionally turning the rag to present a new surface.
