I have a trailer, which I wish to recolor. The trailer was previously painted with Dulux Metalshied,, a Alkyd type paint .

The original paint was a good match for my previous truck, but have since replaced it with another and the colour is just out enough to annoy me. Is it possible to spray using rattle cans, to put on a topcoat, ( its red on red basically ) assuming these cans are synthetic based? Would I get a reaction to the paint types?
It’s a trailer so the finish does not have to as fine as a car/truck, it gets knocked, scraped, ect.
So any advice out there.
