Painting over galv

Got new a x-member for the 110 that I have had galv'd before it gets welded on. I know some of the galv will need grinding off which is fine.
I also intend to Dinitrol the under wheel arch areas of the x-member to add more protection

What's the prep needed to paint the x-member to take paint and Dinitrol?

An etch primer should work, also B&Q do a primer that's suitable for a galvanised finish.

Im Not positive but what about epoxy primer? That sticks to most things and gives better protection than etch.

Shipley paints hi build vinyl [not cheap] but good you can paint it straight on to newly galvanised, the "wrought Iron" fabricators round here all use it,myself included.

An epoxy mastic paint will adhere fine to gal.
