Paint for outdoor use - trailers etc?

Hi all

Apologies if this has been covered before, but what paint do people recommend for outdoor use - commercial vehicle trailers, forklift attachments etc (get a lot of abuse, corrosive cattle muck, road salt etc)?

We are currently using zinc phosphate primer followed by compatible top coats, does anyone have any better suggestions? Needs to be freely available and able to be applied by a simple spraygun or brush.

Rustoleum or Ronseal enamel type paint should work for what you want, I assume you don't want a showroom finish

Most of the farmers that I know around here use Woco paint. And a family friend has always used it for his lorry trailers.

I'm sure they still do a paint that everyone refers to as 'Tractol'. Cheap, brush or spray on and is white spirit based.

The only weird thing about this paint is that you do not thin it for spraying - you warm it to the required viscosity. No, seriously, you do.

infact get to near boil point.
