Paint for garage walls ?

What kinda paint would the collective recommend , for a workshop / garage walls
Bare concrete block at present only single skin so get the odd damp patch from heavy rain
Either contract emulsion or masonry paint ? Don't want to spend a fortune. But want a half decent job

Go over it with a cement wash first to fill the pores in the blocks then masonry paint. You will need at least twice as much paint if you don't use the cement wash.

This has worked in my single skin block shed for 10 years+

I just used contract emulsion. Mix first coat with water I think 50/50. Slap it on with a hairy roller. You do need quite a few coats so perhaps @Misterg method would be better.
I have done a large area in my warehouse though - rollering is fast.

Yep, just cement and water. Mix to a thin slurry in a bucket - sort of Heinz tomato soup consistency then just brush it on with a big ol' white-wash brush.

ETA: If it doesn't fill the pores in the blocks easily in one brush stroke: add more cement. If it's hard work and goes on like toothpaste: add more water.

I used an exterior grade paint inside my cement rendered garage. Works well and can take water splashes or winter damp without issue.

Ive been thinking about what I will do (one day) and like the look of the polyaspartic stuff as it looks extremely hard wearing especially for the floor.

We use airless sprayers, but do big arias and cleaning sprayer would be a pain for small building

I normally use a tanking slurry at the bottom of block walls and a cement slurry higher up to fill all the gaps, for paint I use masonary paint as its long lasting and wipes down pretty well.

Having looked closer most of the original blocks are pretty smooth some are a bit crumbly/dusty so I'll prime /stabilise them with SBR .
I've added another course of new blocks along one side so I'll do the cement / water thing on those .
I think I'll possibly use some tanking slurry as suggested as there's no real.damp course ( on the lower part of the walls )

Then it's masonry paint rollered on I have a wide roller / long handled jobbie

Nice fluffy roller is what you want not one of them short pile things
