Some years back I needed to respray the rear bumper from my TVR (in my avatar). I approached a local guy who did custom motorcycle paintwork and he handed me a fan of colour chips, from which we identified the shade. When I asked him what car it would have been used on, he handed me a phone-book sized tome that listed cars and gave the colours - but of course it couldn't work in reverse. I ended up going through the book looking for the code that was on the paint chip and arrived at the Lancia Y10 as the 'donor' car.
I got the paint from him, it was a perfect match and the bumper was resprayed.
Now the car needs a bit of paintwork touching-up and although I still have the code, he's out of business and I have no idea what brand the paint was. Can anyone ID it from the format of the code? It's B-7-1502-2.
Unhelpfully, Lancia used four variations of this colour, all very similar, so I wouldn't want to buy a litre of the wrong one...
