I picked up a load from the galvanizer's today.
Two 'C' shaped frames that overhung off the back of the lorry and three pallets.
Two pallets no problem, another bloke on a forklift brought out the third pallet of loose short beams and put it on the lorry.
It was only when I pushed them up tight to the other stuff that I realised how hot they were.
They'd come straight out of the dip, it was like putting my hands on a couple of irons!
I've now got shiny hands, I had to wait a while till they cooled enough to put a strap round them without it melting.
A few hours later and a few cans of beer- my hands don't hurt any more.
Be careful folks
Jim
