Oxyacetylene gas bottles

We recently cleared my other halfs dads garage as he has passed away and the house was sold.

There was a lot of oxyacetylene kit in there including two gas bottles. Both marked as BOC. What do I need to do with these? I don't want to get clobbered with a massive bill for rent as its technically nothing to do with us - no idea if it was being paid in some way but I guess all of that ceased when the estate was cleared up.

I wouldn't mind using the gear, but I guess I will need to setup a contract of my own with BOC for gas.

have they got gas and oxygen in them . if so just use them up and get shot of the bottles down the recycling centre when empty then if u don't use much get some rent free bottles cos boc rental will stitch u up

I had a set of these that came with a job lot of stuff I bought. They were empty so I brought them to a local tool auction & got £40 each for them!

The other week I went into a tool shop I go to about three times a year, it's hard to get to but usually turns something up good. Anyway, in this earthquake-prone country what do I see, two unsecured Acetylene bottles with BOC markings leaning against the wall. Probably empty. Didn't stay to find out.

I have two full size boc bottles in the back of my workshop. And they are full. Had them given to me. Don't personally like the stuff. Will have to do something with them as need the space.

I wasn't too keen on it until I took a class and had a cutting torch put into my hand. Cut some stuff up. It's the most fun I've had in a long time, also good for brazing repairs on any of those machines you've got
