oxy-acetylene nozzles and hobbyweld gas

I need a little education here...I can already hear alarm bells ringing.

I have used oxy-acetylene before but only for lead burning for work so dont know about all the different nozzles (if thats what you call them) and their uses.

I need to heat sections of a chassis to take some twist out, i need to know what sort of nozzles/set up i need to use, dont want to use something suitable for cutting and end up chassis in half! A link to a suitable heating torch would be very useful.

I posted a thread on hiring oxy-acetylene, but the ones i have found seem more to do with lead
burning/welding and not heating, hence looking at buying hobbyweld cylinders and a heating torch.

Also has anyone used the hobby weld gas?

Any help appreciated.

how big is the chassi ? for heating big lumps of steel i normaly use a cutting torch if that cant provide enough heat its big rose bud thing if you need one of the use propane for fuel and rent 50ltr oxy cyls

As above oxygen and propane may be your solution. Rent free and available everywhere.
I think hobbyweld now offer a bigger cylinder as well as the original small one.
The small cylinder can not be used for heating as it will exceed the draw off rates. Have a read of the data sheet.

Thanks so far. The chassis is channel, about 4/5mm thick, its bowed for about 2m, so i think it will need heating at intervals along its length to get it back straight.

Just looked at an oxy propane heating torch kit, looks like it could be just right. One more question..

Had a look at the hobbyweld oxygen, there are 2 sizes, £60 (1.33m3) and £195 (4.82m3), will the smaller one last any amount of time?
