Oxy Acetylene Gauges

Hi all,
Yesterday I lent my Oxy Acetylene kit to a friend and It came back with two gauges smashed one oxygen hose pressure and the Acetylene bottle pressure. I really don't want to buy new regulators because the ones I have cost me over 300euro each. Does anyone know where to get them in the UK or Ireland.

put the bite on your "friend" to replace them,I hate to lend out good gear,If it doesn't come back in the same condition you sent it out it should be up to the borrower to have it repaired.Must be OK to have the use of something for FREE.

i know the feling i buy the gear and store and maintain it . then borrow sumone it then when i want to use it i have to go colect it at there convinience cos they havent transport for that day when i recieve it its not working so then i have to repair it before i can get my job done the motto is just borrow everyone elses gear and dont lend your own out

I lend on a simple principle... it comes back as it went out....or I bill for repares & you never get anything again

Gauges are replaceable,and usually not terribly expensive,usually on ebay used for a few dollars.
The worst that I have ran into,when asked about the damage said "I didn't do that,It was damaged when I borrowed it."

I looked into new gauges for for an argon reg broken by a 'mate' couldnt get them enywhere.

Never lend good kit out to people who cant be relied upon.

My argon bottle fell against something hard whilst being relocated, and it cracked the gauge. No new gauges from BOC, “£89 for a whole new regulator please, Pressure Equipment Directive you see Blah Blah Blah…” - Err, I think not squire.
The Bay of E released one into my hands for the princely sum of £7, from a so-called reputable supplier, although that did fail catastrophically when turning the gas on, and blasted the grommet in the top of the gauge into the garage roof, just missing my head. Then I bought a new Wika gauge, which has proven much more the deal, although it did cost £9 instead of £7.

I never lend anyone anything that is pneumatic, electric, hydraulic, or has an engine in/on it.

That is a sound bit of advice, covers just about everything that can be easily damaged.
But I have recieved back trashed screwdrivers and bent spanners.

Most people know that if they borrow my tools they come with an attachment, me. I once lent the brother in law my roof rack and saw it on the car months later so I went to ask for it back. He had sold the car with my rack still attached and as it was not a cheap one he was not too pleased at having to replace it like for like.

someone borrowed my spirit level and 2 MONTHS later it came back covered in cement, and I mean covered couldn't see the bubble.
