Oxford Welder

Hi,

I have aquired an Oxford welder mig 160 from my grandad. Originally, I wanted to use it to do some metal repair on my car but I am quickly realising that it is way over the top! My question really is has anyone ever come across this welder? It is very old as my grandad used it in his blacksmith workshop, and he reached retirement age nearly 30 years ago!

My plan, I think, would be to sell it and buy a more suitable one for my purpose. I was wondering if anyone knew roughly what kind of money I could expect from this welder. The gas bottle will be included in the sale (which is 55kg)

We used to use an Oxford mig for everything down at the yard where my friend had his recovery business and it was a massive box. It was very capable and would weld thin plate very well. You could probably weigh the transformer in for as much as you'll get for the welder but I doubt if you'll get a better welder if it still works.
