Oxford dual voltage arc welder

Hi there,

I'm after a dual input voltage transformer from an arc welder for a little project, I know the likes of Clarke 190amp units have them, but seen a few oxford oil filled units going cheap, can the input transformer be taken out without having to get covered in the oil which I hear is quite bad for you?! Or should I stick to finding a cheap Clarke
sealey unit?

Old oil can contain PCB which is very nasty.

If your building a rotary converter a static from machine mart is a good starting point and about £200 as they often have clearance items

Yeah that's what I'm up to, thn I've got most of he bits from a mate's parts shed, just need some contractors and the transformer. Maybe a few different caps too as I've only got a limited collection.
