Hello all, just wondering who has used Owatrol metal primers & top coats on forged/fabricated work and how you got on with it? What was your surface prep etc?

I’ve used the primers and topcoat on gates and railings but remain unimpressed. I’ve abraded the surfaces well, cleaned with isopropyl alcohol and used their undercoat followed by topcoat, but find it chips very easily. For the past 18 months or so I’ve used a local (French, obvs) paint manufacturer with no better results.
On my recent trip to the UK I’ve picked up some Jotun Conseal Touchup as recommended by someone on here I respect, have yet to try but all of my own fencing and gates are going to get painted with it this year.
