Hey guys,
Bought my first MIG welder for Christmas (a Clarke 135TE). Been having a play with it today, and trying to decide my technique for some welding I need to do on my car.
The car has a couple of small holes along the transmission tunnel where some of the spot welds ripped out (whilst I was removing the seat mounts). I have made a small plate to fit over them, but I'm wondering if I have the right technique to weld it into place:
Is this about right? Don't want to mess it up
I will have the welder on the lowest power setting with a wirespeed of about 5. I'm using a CO2/Argon mix.
Thanks
Matt

- Tack weld in the plate
- Using short bursts, weld from the centre of two tacks to the centre of another two
