Overheat cutout.

Hi, IV got a Lincoln 200c speedtec.
It keeps cutting out with a thermometer showing on the screen. According to the manual this is the overheat symbol. Once I turn the welder off and back on again it then lets me weld again for about 1 inch and then it cuts out again.
The welder can't be overheating after this little use shortly? I have taken the case off and blown all the inside out including the fan with the compressor but it still does the same thing.
Anybody else had this problem? Any ideas?

pics be nice but as a first guess as above how old is it

2nd have you ever cleaned out the inside ? if not a long handled brush and air compresser to blow it out to make it look nice would go a long way

is there a fan in the unit is it working when switcvhed on ? if not is there power to the fan

i dont know your mechine but my welder the fan works most if not alll of the time but when i stop welding the fan also goes on for quite a while after powering off the unit i wait untill the fan stops spinning before unpluging as that a device to help the mechine cool down faster

Hello Alberto,

it could be that the thermistor that monitors the temperature has gone faulty. Whether it is accessible or replaceable I don't know.
