ive just bought a new set of v belts for a myford lathe I picked up . myford genuine belts £22 00 got a set of a seller on ebay for 16 quid the cheaper set was made by optibelt .2 guesses who the myford belts are made by![]()
On my big stump grinder behind this casing there is a big banded belt ( four big v belts bonded together) from Rayco that belt is £900, from Marksman its £80

These big bearings are in the dirt so dont last long, Rayco price is about £500 the pair and local bearing supplier is about £150

The Gates poly chain belt/sprockets on the left side of the shaft run to about £1000 but from the states around £250

I think manufacturers prices are one thing but when they import a machine and supply spares you get a double/quadruple shafting. Its not like they are supplying anything special or bespoke, its standard engineering supplies/parts.
