Out of interest rates for welders

Just out of interest people who can weld very thin wall tubes together, is there a specific rate /cost that one would associate with someone skillswise for this work?

No, it depends on the employer, location, the market place they are selling their products into, customers quality requirements etc etc.

I visit a wide range of fabrication businesses on a daily basis and the rates of pay for similiar quality work is vast, literally from mimimum hourly rate to 6 figure salaries

Then of course, what type of tig used, manual or, orbital?

Used to be but got fed up of working away and getting burnt for a living.

Hi gents its all manual work , no orbital ,we will be creating some positions and its pretty much an open job, Im told whilst i might find it very relaxing tig welding my skills will be required elsewhere and as these will be new employee positions I'm not really one who says you do this and that's how it should be hence the question, is it a case of piece work ,salary or hourly rate relaxed environment very precise fit ups its really a case of weaving some fine tig work

thats exactly what im getting at we reshored the jobs and could start from a clean sheet put the precision in with automation and this left enough room to pay decentley (i hope) and value the guys doing the work as opposed to them just being guys that do a job
