letting a car down off a trolley jack and the handle was fierce thight, and it came all of a sudden, and up on the runner she went, bye bye big toe nail, bent over itself and broke, and a runner full a blood

Try and put it back in place if you can and hold it in place with a bandage

well the hole nail bent over on the toe like it was put in a folding press, i bent it back with my hand, and bandidged it up a bit, but it was fairly leaking out blood :O

Done it myself before now, with hands as well

Should be ok in about a week, it'll grow out eventually

I'd be inclined to go to the doctors, or A&E, if you have time just to make sure you haven't completely knackered it...
Hell, they may even take the nail off

its the worst feeling when u feel the pain in the pits of your stomach, although its nt the stomach were the pain is, its an intense feeling i must say. lost the finger nail last year, had the hydraulic toplink pinned on the tractor side and it slipped out a my hand and pivoted through a full swing to catch my index finger on the tip of the pto shaft were it was merely resting . . . more ouch

I'm now starting to feel that putting an automatic torque screwdriver/press through my finger was insignificant

Was making fire sprinklers at the time, hit the footplate and didn't get my hand out of the way in time after dropping the screw in the top as they were "dodgy" screws

Needless to say plain slot screwdriver came down and the screw feed pinned my finger while it tried to tighten the screw up to about 15ftlbs torque
