Not welding related but, had some new parts for the chevy arrive yesterday from the USA. Its a full power brake booster setup to turn my all round manual drum brakes into all round power drum brtakes. This should mean that an emergency stop does not require that you stand up on the pedal! Stopping 18 foot of best pittsburgh steel with an iron block V8 up front does take some effort. Doesn't stop em fading but will make life easier. I drove a friend big block 68 Impala with the same setup and at slow speed you just need to nudge the brakes to lock em up, mine you can't lock up on a dry road.
The brackets and linkages are used and the booster itself is a new remanufactured unit from Autozone in the US along with new rubber boots for the bulkhead. Just got to clean it up and hit it with some satin black paint.
