I love opreys, I used to see the occasional one at a deep river pool near where I lived in Highland Perthshire. What I love is that distinguishing black streak along their head... will you incorporate that?

yes what i did was make the head feathers in stainless with the eye streak in steel so hopefully it should rust in for me

no i just surprised myself doing the eagle and got bitten with the sculpting bug.
I been drawing birds of prey most of my life but never thought of trying sculpture. Got to be the most satisfying hobby ive ever had. I part own "Dowling Stoves" so have all the metalworking gear to hand so just thought one day why not try it. It was after sketching an eagle out on my work bench it came to me and i just bent round bar round it and off i went. You yourself will no better than anyone the satisfaction of standing back looking at what you have created, its a great feeling, just wish id started it years ago

Regards the finished [project.
I often look at it and think 'balls' and cant stand it.
Then appreciate it the next day, I find it really hard not to just look at the bits I dont like.
But it is a great feeling making something because you have to, with no other reason that that. Also good to have a go at something new and find you get on with it.

Yip i know what you mean.. i find thats the time to walk away and come back the next day... I think it means you need a rest from it. That happened to me on Saturday. I stood back and looked at the wings and thought "******** thats s***e" then came back on Monday morning and looked at them again and thought wow no they actually work and look fine. I had planned to come down to shop and cut them off
