Opinions on HVLP system vs compressor

Hi - I need to paint the ouside of the house and gives me the excuse to buy tools
I can't really sacrifice the space for a compressor, so after much searching found an HVLP system, which I think will cope with smooth masonry paint, whilst giving the ability for other types of spraying in the future.

Are they any good?
Opinions please.
If a compressor is the only good solution, then what size / output do I need to look for?

I don't know how big a fan that would produce if you're using it to spray large areas.

I bought an Apollo 2 stage kit a few years back, as they said it would reduce paint loss on spraying high bypass jobs like gates. Wrong, it didn't. But I still use it from time to time, but usually reach for the compressor kit. What I needed then, was an electrostatic kit. Quite expensive at the time and the paint was cheaper, so I continued wasting a bit.

But it also might be me being a bit piffed off that the plastic gun was not very user friendly and having paid quite a bit, I was dissapointed.
The guns look much better now, so......

I notice that HVLP kits are on sale in the local B&Q for around 50euro. Throw away test idea??

Part of my distrust might be from the original HVLP guns, that were attachments for the blower end of a vacuum cleaner in the 60s. Not very good at the time.

2nd Edit: For areas like walls, I would use rollers. But I see bits of kit that supply paint at pressure to guns rather than use air. Aimed at pro wall painters, so more suitable?
