I was having a bit of a root in a skip behind a training centre not a million miles from me, can't resist a skip, never know what you might find. Came across this drill, sadly no way i could fish it out, which is a pity because it looks a bit of quality.

I was by myself, reckon you would probably want four lads to get it out over the edge of the skip. It is a heavily built lump.

Shame. I have a similar drill labeled GIMA...made in sweden. It stands about 6' tall.

I would have had all of that. Everything you can see in those pictures looks good to me. Then again, my shed already looks like that so maybe I don't need it.

Not that that makes any difference....

Me too to be honest, i hate waste. What price would a drill like that be new ? £2,000 ? £3,000 ? It was in a training centre, where it probably never done a days work, good as new apart from a bit of surface rust. Its off to be melted down for manhole covers now

Easy a couple of grand there. Even the geared head Chinese machines are upwards of that. Shame isn't it. Like all these old factories with loads of gear sat in then just waiting to be demolished. Wish I knew were they where I'd be in there on the loot!

I have just launched a very nice ernault capstan lathe in the skip complete with tooling and bar feeder , about four tons of it minus the bits @Stueeee rescued off it . Some of this stuff as nice as it is has no place/use these days. Sad.

I seen some nice bits going to the scrapper over the years, a perfect rapidor hacksaw dropped over the side of a large skip and smashed, still kicking myself i did not ask for it, a tool and cutter grinder, it was minus a lot of the attachments but someone could have gotten use out of it for something. A pantograph engraver too, sad. But when a something is surplus to a business, the selling can be a hassle, so its just skipped.

My place is getting rid of it's fabrications and welding area and I reckon there is going to be a massive e amount of good welding gear getting chucked into the skip, tig mig stick you name it will probably get tossed out, sad thing is if I went and rescued some I would get sacked for stealing! I may try and get some stuff out before it's scrapped. Like the "scrap" record No.25 vise I got out with a legit scrap note 2 years ago, things practically brand new
