One of small SS sheet metal job offered.

Hi all, just wondering I could make my onw and weld it all up but i think it will be better of folded.

So was wondering if anybody on here will take this job on for me please. Just struggling to get a local company to do it as its a one off and they dont want to do it or have the material to do it. It is to go over a boat transom for the outboard to sit on.

good idea kida, but still need the sheet. what I was first going to do it myself with my Tig i popped into the only sheet metal place for the steel but wanted £40 for it. Seemed a bit steep....?

the sheet i have is 3mm i do have some 2.5mm sheet when i dig it out

the sheet could be scratched are you wanting it fancy ?

ive also got the stainless steel mig wire but id be using mixed gas with it for steel welding

as goes for smoothing it off never done it to a mirror finish

just so you know normally i weld it call it a day as i use stainless steel for the internals on my wood burner its how i have some materials around

i used the above method on these below the first one is 3mm 304 stainless steel not polished i do believe

Not bothered about fancy as it will not be seen much as under the outboard and if i want then i can polish it up. Thats not a bad price towards the sheet metal company wanting £40, cheaky sods.

Where are you up Yorkshire ? Yarm? Or is that another member i forget now.

I thought that would have been easy enough to do on the press at work until I saw the 115mm on the return edge! Probably finishable on hand folder but might bring a slightly larger radius into it as it's not got the sharpest of tooling.
