Sorry, it’s a TigStar.25. The picture is of the rating plate on the back of the machine.

It is only 240 volt. Do you think it would need a dedicated supply?

EDIT. She lives. Plugged it into a different supply and it light up. So I may have a working tig welder.

Just got to repair the multi core cables on the foot pedal that were cut off.

I haven’t bucket up the courage to try the plasma cutter yet to see if it will cut anything. I’m a scaredy cat with that thing.

I think the whole thing might work now Ive repaired the foot pedal.

Can I actually strike the tig torch up without gas, just to see if it does actually work?

I don’t know who designed the machine but I think it’s silly to use two plugs on the foot pedal with the same pin configuration but they need to be plugged into the correct sockets. Just wonder what would happen if they’re plugged into the wrong socket.

Options for you regarding trying it without gas, take the tungsten out the tig torch and put in a 2.5mm stick rod, it will be wrong polarity unless you swap the tig torch to + and return to -but as a function test either way will prove the machine works. Work the pedal and see if the amps change, you could use a stick torch instead of the tig torch of course and also use the pedal, great success hope

Well I’ve done all the repairs on the cut cables and powered the tig up.

When I try the tig torch with the repaired foot pedal, I get a small high frequency arc but no full arc.

Occasionally it will strike a full arc. Could it be a dirty relay contact?
