Tootling along the left hand lane through the roadworks on the clockwise intestinal tract that's known as the M25 yesterday evening when alongside me appears Eleanor!! Now I can sit and be entertained by "Fast and Furious" type films but if you're talking real cars, this girl had it in shed loads.

Left- hand drive wearing Isle of Man plates, she was sporting a plain white coat with a black "Le Mans" stripe, and even though the driver kept it at 50 through the roadworks, when he touched the loud pedal the noise from the twin pipes was nothing short of awesome!

This time of year there's some fantastic motors on the road. Earlier in the day I saw a 50's Yank-tank that was straight out of Johnnie Cash's "One Piece at a time" and a few days ago I came across the most gorgeous classic Ferrari, top down, fully restored in a Daytona yellow. That one could have come from the scene in "The Italian Job" where the Mafia 'doze the cars off the road.

As good as these are though, for sheer presence, Eleanor takes some beating. A veritable treat....

A group [not sure what the collective noun would be] of 9 Ferraris passed through here last week, wearing Dutch plates iirc. Possible road trip........?

We had the Gunmball rally last weekend pain in the ****! had to get the skip uplifted as the current job is opposite the Hotel they were all staying at and they closed the road off for a carpark. Out and about on Sunday there were supercars everywhere, blatting about generally being knobs and police cars with all the bells and whistles chasing them and being just as big knobs, some of the cars sounded glorious.

some of these supercars are nice and sonud nice..but you cant beat cubic capacity..a small block chevy at 5.7lts can push 400+bhp easy..and a bow tie block can push 1000 bhp and can push 454 cubic inches...i regulary go drag racing and often see 80 grand motors get totally blown away buy pro street cars....brings a smile evry time.......

We wont be going quietly

Havn't worked the numbers out exactly but it'll be a total of about 70-80 litres of displacement and 4-5000 horsepower!

Just thought I'd explain Two Wheels Forever- For Ever Twowheels just in case someone thinks the initials mean summat different.
But kidding apart, the engineering and mega BHP these cars produce today is awesome. The thing to remind oneself is that these cars (and bikes) are pushing out the power of yesterdays GP bikes and F1 cars-made manageable for the less gifted pilot by electronics.
One wonders how many years it will take for us all to have no choice of BHP or engine configuration and speed controllers and data loggers mandatory for every vehicle.
So for the moment, lets enjoy.

About £500 per car if i remember?

not much cash left for beer, and at about 7-8 quid a pint we take our own.
