This is for a mate of mine

What’s an approximate cost for supply and installation of an oil fired boiler, 8 rads and piping plus an oil storage tank.

It’s a 1950’s house and it will be empty

There is no existing central heating of any sort

How long is a piece of string?

Cost of rads can be £40 each or £400 each, rad valves also vary massively

Size of rads and hot water needs determine the size of boiler and therefore cost. I’m guessing a combi so one bathroom/shower

Tanks are pretty standard but access and distance can affect cost

Piping will be fairly standard on 8 rads, probably 30m ish of 22 and 45-60m of 15 if it’s all in copper

Bit more info needed, based on what you posted it will start at £4K and climb very quickly. Lpg can be cheaper as Calor will install the tank for free and boilers are just the same as NG ones now

The cost for boiler, tank, materials etc is now at £4.5K and I haven’t finished yet! Reckon it’ll be around £4.75K. The layout of our house is rubbish for plumbing so it’s a very pipe hungry installation.

Yep. Wall hung grant system boiler. We’ve been living with an old solid fuel micro bore system for the last three years. Flue liner went last winter.

Not sure how relevant it is to @Parm but here's what I've been quoted.
5.7k for a Grant Vortex Pro 26e boiler with associated pumps & pipework, expantion vessel, Magnaclean etc up to the exiting tank & a new flu system.
Here it is.
What's thy experts think?
Remove existing boiler Make good building fabric Fit new high efficiency external condensing boiler (Grant Vortex Pro 26e) and low level flue Refit oil supply to current standards Plumb primary water flow pipework to cylinder loft area c/w automatic bypass, Alpha 3 circulating pump, cylinder valve and heating zone valve, connect to radiator plumbing by others Fit sealed system expansion vessel and safety components Fit magnaclean system filter and add corrosion inhibitor Fit Honeywell Lyric T6HW 'smart' programmable thermostat and hot water timer Commission appliance and notify installation to LABC 1 Supply and fit vertical flue system to discharge at eaves level
