morning guys , I've

been having a tidy up of some bits and pieces that were in a box that came with a lathe that a friend of mine gave me a while ago . Any know what these are for ?

[Spark plug]

From the left the first item is a drive dog, used to drive the workpiece when turning between centres.

The next two are V blocks with C clamps used when making out round bar for cross drilling etc.

And the last 3 are toolmakers clamps mainly used for holding small parts whilst working on them.

Thanks very much for your reply, I get the v blocks and the clamps . I just googled the drive dog and now I think I know what it is . I also found a round plate with an adjustable "peg" in it so am I right in thinking that the dog and the plate work together and the work piece is held in the head and tail stocks with centers ?

That's correct, that's called a drive or catch plate.
