Old newbie!

Hi all,

Was searching the interweb for spares for my 1987 SIP Migmate 110 and came across this place... Looks like a lot of good advice on here!

I've been melting metal (with varying degrees of success) since I was 15 (when I bought the above welder for a 5 inch mini roof chop I was doing), and have set fire to many things since

I used to be an automotive development engineer for Ford & Ricardo, but now do something completely different.

I have a Westfield SEight (self built), a Toyota Supra MKIV twin turbo, Range Rover 110" ambulance (rebuilt), Racing Citroen 2CV (half built) and currently patching up a small rust hole on a 306 Diesel. I have other cars but I can't remember what :eek:

Welcome to the forum. I wonder if we've crossed paths. I worked as an automotive NVH engineer before doing something completely different. Dipping my toes in the water again - starting a short contract based at Millbrook next week.

That's a nice variety of cars you have.

Excellent Plum. I`m interested in all your cars, particularly the Rangie. I love 2cvs. Funnily enough my wife came in tonight and mentioned that a 2CV had flew by her on M8 today. It must have been going some. She tried to make light of it by saying it MUST have had a bigger engine to go by my Honda Coupe like that......she reckons 80+ it was doing...he he!

I love 2cvs. Funnily enough my wife came in tonight and mentioned that a 2CV had flew by her on M8 today. It must have been going some.

Yep, they can top 95 which is quite scary in a thin tin car like a 2CV. Some of the competitors use their cars on the road, especially Christine who drives a matt black one.

Attached is a photo of the rangie that required huge amounts of welding. Also there is a Renault Master that I had to rebuild http://www.sussar.org/gallery/gallery5/index.htm Don't be fooled by the others in the photos, they're just there to hinder and play on the tanks that were also in the workshop
