This is 2.25 p engine. 7;1 CR. It is about 67 and is in my 61 Landy.
Engine ran rough. felt low compression when turning with handle. It started and drove, no oil or smoke problems. Would not idly freely and underpowered
Compression figures were 112 122 122 130..........all cold with throttle closed........so not accurate.
Here is head off and the gasket. one bolt was not torqued anywhere near the figure. Gasket was not comlete around bolthole there.
The combustion chambers.
Look at the deposit next to the exhaust valve.
Need to get bore measured. There is a lip you can catch with nail but I aint got an internal micrometer. Will have to borrow one.
Engine has been rebuilt before. With the price of unleaded head it is no wonder guys go for TDI power. Wont do many miles so would rather refurb this if feasible.
