So my big beasty Draper welder was working right up until the point I put alloy wire in it. no drama, no chaos, it just stopped working. When plugged in, the fan operates, but with the steel wire plugged back in, it just refuses to indicate any sign of life.
I've taken the side off and had a look at the main board - no obvious signs of damage (mini exploded resistor, black burn marks), and nothing else *looks* disastrous...
So I'm stuck to two questions:
1 - any suggestions where to have a poke and what I did wrong?
2 - I don't know if you've tried googling "Mig welder repairs" (and variations thereof), but it tends to revert with lists of people who do welding repairs, rather than repair welders... Any suggestion on who may be able to help in or around the Farnborough (north Hampshire) location?
