Picked up an tatty old clarke 100e Mk2 at an auction for £22 after rethreading the wire feed it seem to work OK it feeds and sparks when tested on a piece of steel however I cannot test it properly as I have no gas. One thing I have noticed is when I switch it on the switch glows orange permanently and from what I read this indicates an overload and should switch the welder down which it is not as the feed works and it sparks. I have seen similar posts on these welders but with no conclusions. Does anyone have any? before I invest in a disposable gas bottle to try an actual weld.
Another question on these disposable gas bottles can they be swapped / taken off half used or do they have to be used up once attached?
Any advice appreciated
