I understand there is guidance to cut down trees outside of bird nesting season which is 1st March onwards. Spring really.
I am a homeowner and have some overgrown mature tree hedging to remove around the back of my house. No TPOs or planning issues. They are about 20 foot tall and around 12 Trees to remove. They are low quality as the back was already cut off them by my neighbours when putting up a new fence. So really we will both benefit from a new Laurel hedge which is already planted behind the mature hedges in preparation.
I know that it is an offence to knowingly destroy a birds nest and I would not do that.
I cannot get them down before 1st March so just wondering if no birds nests are present am I wrong to take them down in Spring or summer?
Asking for opinions, go easy!
