Oerlikon/Commercy welder

Hi guys anybody familiar with the oerlikon/commercy welders??
That's my machine at work, like to tell you about it but having difficulties with the english terms...tried out the silent pulse mode today...if i may quote someone:"blimmy"
that does excite a welder, doesn't it!!!!!!

Can you tell me the difference in welding in pulse mode and normal mode?

The experience i have had of oerlikon machines, was a 300a single phase unit.
I found it hard to get running smooth, and the noise from it was imense!
Kind of put me off them to be honest.


Pulse machine have a few advantages, more penetration, minimal spatter, slightly faster, smaller HAZ, larger wireswire burns in easier than conventional migs..... longer consumable life....amongst others.

Heat affected zone, in simpler terms, thats the zone which is affected by the heat
