oddball chuck arbor

Hi all,

I have need of a B18 taper to 3/4" Weldon shank orB18 to 3/4" straight shank that I can add flats to.

Basically I need to mount my 16mm chuck with a B18 taper in my mag drill with a 3/4" Weldon chuck/socket.

Short of getting a MT3 to B18 and reducing the Morse end to 19mm/3/4" I can't find anything in the UK. (Well rdg tools do a B16 to 20mm but that's as near as I've got).

I'm amazed the collective wealth of knowledge has not come up with anything!!

Ivr decided it get an MT1 to B18 arbor, and a MT1 3/4" straight socket and have the flats milled on (I have a feeling a file won't touch it but will see when it arrives!)

I'll have to see if the setup is too long but the. MT arbor is only 100mm long including 32mm of B18 taper and then there will be approx 25mm in the Weldon socket leaving 43mm in between so I think I can live with that as the chuck is quite compact.

The best I could come up with was a chuck with Weldon shank but not the separate arbor. I did find an arbor but it was in a kit comprising of a chuck and B18/Weldon arbor in the U.S., Steel Dragon Tools.

Yeah I saw a few b16 ones but no b18... Porta who my local supplier deal with do every imaginable combo except b18
