I have just spent the last 20 mins looking for the thread about auto darkenening welding masks. IE what to buy, where to buy and howmuch to pay?

Oh yeah forgot to mention i picked up my new welder on sat. a clarke 160t from flea bay! £155.01 half a role of stainless wire(i think!)

Nice buy on that Clarke, maybe the black tape is there to hold the shroud on because the spring is missing? Weldequip keeps the springs in stock

Finnaly! a relief to have a working welder again! funny how many jobs you can find to do when you have a new toy to play with!!!!!

The wire, befor you go sparking aout on a nice stainless job, doublecheck.
I have been nearly caught out with non coated wires before.

No! Keep getting other jobs to do first! Will def have chance at weekend as i'm putting a discovery back together!

that sounds fun! when you say "back together" in what state is it?

typical discovery! There is more rust and corrosion than solid steel. The o/s inner wing would be more usefull as a sieve and you can see tyre/road through the foot well behind the peddals!

Also it has the biggest hole i've ever seen in the exaust (about 16" long). Not to mention the issue with the anti role links, the brake pipes and did i mention it needs a head gasket?!

So far i've stripped the head off and sent that away for skimming, the exaust is off and i got the new sections this morning. Hopefully the new inner wing will turn up today....
