Nut Size

Firstly, thanks to weldequip for a top quality regulator. Now for the question, what size is the nut to screw it into the gas bottle? I've got upto 22mm in spanners and my adjustable isn't big enough either. Will go out tomorrow and get one once one of you knowlegable helpful guys enlighten me

If it's the same as mine (and it probably will be ) then it'll be 1 1/8 inch. That's about 28.5mm.

I use a big adjustable spanner with a max adjustment of 35mm. That comes in useful for all sorts of things.

You'll never want to go back. The only real difference is arc quality, but that does make a real difference. You should get a lovely stable arc with the Argon/CO2 mix and none of that stuttering and spatter.

Would you post about your first impressions of Argoshield? I started off with the stuff and tried CO2 after I'd got the hang of things (to some extent), so I did the comparison from the wrong angle.

if your using BOC you will need a cylinder key/spanner to open the bottle anyway. My key has a spanner that fits the regulator nut. Get one when you get your gas as there only a couple quid.
