They were cheap and because of that they were considered to be rubbish.......Ive got a mortiser that donkeys years old and a battery drill that lasted longer than any other Ive had........but I had a mains drill that soon packed up
Their factory shop was near me (Doncaster A1) so I couldnt go past
Nu Tool just rebadge other stuff, mostly Chinese made but it is usually the better quality stuff. I have a Nutool 6x4 bandsaw & a small pillar drill & they are nearly identical to Sealey branded ones!
As above I've had my Nu Tools pillar drill over 30 years, couldn't afford anything better at the time.
I thought it should last a few years and by the time it knackered up I could probably afford a better brand. Still waiting for it to give up.
I've a very small NuTool pillar drill (similar to those sold by the likes of Lidl for 60quid or so now and then), that I bought when I had very little money in the mid eighties ...it still works the way it did then. Whether they are the same quality now I have no idea.
i've been doing stuff for about 30yrs i didn't know they had been going so long. didn't hear the name till about 10 yrs ago, then found they've done woodwork machine's for years
