Greetings people,

I've been in the arc-welding forum for a while, and now I've just picked up another MIG, so I'm going to be in here again too . It's a bit of a beast, and it's seen better days (in the words of the chap who gave it to me), but it seems to work absolutely fine. I've got no gas bottle for it at the moment, but it will take gasless wire, and seeing as it's quite windy where I weld outside on my drive, that'll probably suit me fine. Just wondered what people might think of this welder, and whether you can buy a gauge that'll accept disposable bottles, as I've got one or two of those kicking around. It seems to just have a hose with a jubilee clip that's been cut. It all seems to be operating with no problems. It feeds absolutely fine and the like. Obviously, my test welds look hideous with bare wire and no gas, so I'll have to get some gasless wire later on.

I love arc welding, but for 0.8mm stuff it just doesn't cut it

Hi there. I found this thread after doing a quick site search on NuMig 135. As you can probably guess that is what I have. I was just wondering how you are getting on with it and do you have an instruction manual/leaflet for it?

I also use an old Wescol oil cooled arc welder but it does tend to be a bit fierce when it comes to welding up thin car bodywork. Especially being as I am rather rusty at welding what with not having done any since my college course....too many years ago to recall. The Wescol does the job but I do find I have to go over the thin stuff and carefully build it back up again after I've blown holes in it

Hi there,

I don't have any documentation with it, but I'm finding it very good so far. I've given it a good service, which includes, new coil liner, new swan neck liner, new tips and shrouds, and I've fitted a disposable gas bottle regulator. There are reference tables printed on the body of the welder, so you can work out your power/thickness ratios too. I think it's pretty good. The only other thread I found which mentioned the same welder was one where it died mysteriously, which isn't good, but then again, it happens No problem with me so far though!
