nozzle size

could someone explain what difference it makes to spraying with different nozzle sizes please.

my gravity gun has a nozzle stamped 1.0

is it ok for spraying hammerite smooth?

how much thinners should i add?

Must be a mini-gun, touch-up size? I got one with a 1.0 and spray all sorts with it, just thinned to suit the gun (1k, 2k, synth etc). So reckon Hammerite should be no probs. (Unless it very gloopy? Been yrs since used it)
Myself I would just mix till it feels good, test spray etc - but there's bound to be a data sheet on the net somewhere though, with the makers recc's, for doing the proper thing.

Small guns have small setups. Like 0.8, 1.0. Fullsize use bigger setups. Generally, smaller sizes are for thinner paints. Like with a fullsize you might use a 1.6 for 2k colour but a 2.0 for hosing on high-build primer.

just mix some paint down with thinners in a pot with a stick . lift out the stick if the paint slowly falls off its 2 thick add more thinners set gun to about 50 psi .test spray on an old can or simlar. if its slow in coming out its 2 thick. if 2 thin it will be like p.,/././ water and run just practice 1st
