Hi everyone I have just noticed this section of the forum so I have never posted here before. I last sprayed a car 40 yrs ago at that time it was all cellulose and 2 pack clear over base was just starting to be used which to be quite honest was part of the reason I never got involved again nasty breathing problems and extremely toxic and very expensive safety equipment needed and essential. I now understand that water based paints are being used, what is it like for a non pro like myself to get a good finish and are there any special requirements needed for use please bear in mind I would be using my one and half car garage cum workshop with no spray booth or extraction. When I last used cellulose I could lay on a finish like glass but a long time ago. What makes me ask is while having a clear up the other day I came across 2 guns they are devilbiss JGA guns one with as small pot which was brand new unused until I used for a day about 7 years ago to put wood preserver on my fencing and the other which has never been used still in polythene these were expensive and top of the range in my day I don't know about now but are they usable for this water based paint and how is it for drying as I obviously do not have an oven at home is it forgiving paint that you can play about with like cellulose was. Any information appreciated Thanks Chris
