Non-safety dealer boots

I used to buy them fairly cheap from Mole Valley, and they’d last a year, which was fine. Then I found the cheaper ones stopped lasting six months, so went for some Blundstones, which lasted two years.

Most recent pair of Blundstones, which were bloody expensive, have badly cracked soles after just four months.

So, non-safety dealer boots which last at least a year and don’t cost the earth? I wear all the time, for everything.

I buy Blundstone 550 - non safety boots...

Wear them daily for everything... Work/dog walking/in the garden at home...

Got two pairs on the go at the moment - I let them dry out!

Reckon I got another two new pairs in stock. It is the insoles I keep buying - last about 3 months and I find it hard to buy new Blundstone ones online now...

I got one pair of Black Blunstone 068 boots I wear with trousers if I go out...

I’ve got a pair of hard yakka banjo safety boots - superbly comfy, lasted over a year so far of everyday wear and tear, work, dog walking, general day to day stuff. Soles are hardly worn at all, and even comfier than when I first got them.

They do these in non safety version, while I haven’t got those exact ones the steel toe cap version should be no different

I have the same problem with blundstone. Dead soles in under a year. Jim Green two years so far, and doing fine
Jim Green have a goodyear welt, so they can be easily resoled. However they are old school and need proper (painful) breaking in...

I bought some recently from Clark’s shoe shop, seem good quality & good value, but yet to see how they last.

I switched from Blundstone's to Redback's because the Blundstone's aren't what they used to be since they moved production to Asia.
The tearing of the soles is due to hydrolysis. Apparently if the shoes are sitting idle to much the hydrolisys disintegrates the sole.
There should be a manufacturing date on the shoes. If yours have been sitting on a shelf for a number of years you're of to a bad start, but using them every day can postpone the ultimate.

DM's Airware are a nice comfy dealer boot, a bit spendy but very comfy.

Got a pair of Muck Boot Company Rainscape Chelsea boots. They are waterproof, being rubber and neoprene and comfortable enough. I don't wear them every day, but seem to be lasting well up to now.
