The theiving sods have even started to nick copper cables from the railway signals now here. £2750/ton apparently in some palces for copper at the moment.
Heard on the radio today aswell, started nicking kids play equiptment, stainless steel slides etc.![]()
Not a new problem this, I knew one of the line guys who electrified the southend vic-london line in the 60s, the only way they could stop the cables from walking was to only put enougth section in to power up that night.
I can remember all the pipes going from empty houses when I was a kid, I think it was just because it all got so cheep in the 90s knowone bothered.
