noise from regulator

Hi,

I have a Clarke 160tm and have just tried it for the first time, the regualtor that I got with it, an oxyturbo mini, single gauge makes a funny noise when I turn on the gas.

In short if I turn the gas up so I can hear a hiss from the shroud when i press the trigger the regulator sounds like a trumpet !

I checked for leaks with washing up liquid and water and found none.

I'm hoping the regulator isn't knackered as I was hoping to get an auto helmet next week.

Faulty diaphragm or non return valve I would imagine. Can you not get an exchange one?

I'll email Clarke and see what they say about a replacement. Just wanted to make sure it wasn't something I had done.

my reg does the same and has done for the last 3 years but it gets quieter as the gas gets less, still going strong though
