No dual mass flywheel on auto?

I have had an 08 Vivaro for just over a year now. I am quite impressed with it. Good on fuel, no faults (yet), air con, quite car like to drive. I know they had their issues with gearboxes and the injector problem. But injectors on diesels are a wear item now with a avg life of around 100k. I Would say its like most things, you get your good ones and you get lemons, just luck.

If by 'scrapping them and replacing with new' you mean "chiselling or drilling through the rocker cover, then removing the cyl head, then using some extremely hefty pulling gear, then sorting the pockets back out, then replacement of everything" then yes I should've put what you said lol

There are very few auto boxes left on mainstream vehicles. Big German Big Jap/ Volvo still have them but all mid price have robot changer.
Except new Honda and smaller Nissan which have a CVT. That is neither proper auto or robot changer.
The best of the robot changers for reliability was Honda iShift. Still a poor gear change though.
Robot changers are better on fuel and therefore low emissions. Actuators, clutch and shift, are the problem as well as the leccy's that go with them. French and German are worst.

Matter of time before you get a major and expensive fault, and as with anything Renault you probably wont get any sort of warning before it lets you down in a very costly way. Never ever going to buy anything else in the way of French vans, and I would guess the cars are probably even worse?

or pug expert you want an older one with the 8 valve HDI no dpf but finding a good one is the problem

if you want a good minibus bombproof apart from rust
SWB MK5 smiley face transit still a few good ones out there
yes they did it in auto as well not many about though
another point is insurance
once you get past 7 seats it gets dear and the no of company's are limited
you might want to check this out first

Nope, I want a 2010, with the Ford Puma 2.2 engine. No DPF

Thanks for the input, but all the transits/tourneos I looked at were rotting, seem worse for it than same age Vivaros. Also need LWB due to require 6+ seats and luggage space.

Will look into insurance, hadn't considered that.

I quite like the Chrysler Grand Voyager with a V6 (worried about big repair bills on a diesel), but it fared badly in safety tests. Citroen C8 looks OK but a bit concerned about faults.
