Nissan Duke door handle was broken so a second hand door handle was fitted.
But does not detect that the key is close.
Looked inside and there was two blobs of solder. One on each end of the wire running to the door.
So.it was clearly broken. I decided to strip it down and expected some array of electronic components. In there was this.
I think it's some form of carbon or ferrite wrapped in thin copper wire. Obviously insulated as it was twisted 5 times at the end before it would have been soldered.
Does anyone know what the black stuff would be?
150 quid for a replacement apparently.
